This.

Also back to the whole driving analogy. Just because someone has their lisence doesn't mean that they operate their car in a safe manner. Those of us who do carry already are already well aware of the procedures on how to carry and operate a firearm safely. Yes you will still have idiots, but that's no different then those who operate a vehicle.

I have noticed just in this thread different attitudes toward firearms based on the area in which you live. big john and I both live in NC and all my life ive been around guns. I was going to turkey shoots when i was 7 or 8 and around here "illegal" gun sales are considered normal. I have never purchased a gun from a shop or store, even though I own several, including a 9mm auto and my recently purchased ak-47. I can guarantee I could step outside and fire multiple shots into the woods and the police would not show up. What i'm getting at is I think that regulation would go over like communism down here. whereas in places with already strict laws (NJ) it would seem commonplace.

At the end of the day, making laws for guns is retarded. If you are going to commit a crime with a gun, you aren't going to go buy it at Cabela's and get your name put all over it.

Law-abiding people do not need to be forced to jump through more hoops that will not stop 99.9% of gun crime.

nj isnt really that bad. people have to fill out an extra form and they go bat shit about it. im actually glad the fbi, state and local police know who has what in this state.

i own a shitload of guns, some bought online, some bought from private citizens and most bought from stores. none of them ever constituted a pain in the ass to buy.

the real problem is the fact that nj is so fucking overpopulated that all the real fun benefits that places south of the mason dixon enjoy, we cant because houses here are on top of each other and theres no real open space left. plus having some of the most shittiest cities in the country, cops are a tad more jumpy than alot of others places.

dont get me wrong this place still blows major horse cock, and i cant wait to get out, but its not as bad as everyone portrays it, gun wise that is.

A Militia is defined by our Federal Government as "All able bodied citizen males older than 18 years of age". And a militia during the early part times of our country was again all able bodied males who's duty it was to defend their communities, these "militias" were everyday normal armed men NOT regular or reserved military.

What was the intention of the "Right to Bear Arms"? Was the indention-so all citizens could go out and kill deer? Was the intention-so the frustrated and overworked barrel maker could release some frustration? Or could it be that the Founders LOVED guns? The answers to all of these questions is unequivocally-No. The intention was to allow the communities a defense, both from foreign and domestic threats. What is it that the communities should defend? Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The idea of the Second Amendment is to allow for the common citizen to defend themselves, their families, their property, and to most importantly defend their human rights granted to them by the Constitution.

Upon further educated a citizens understands that Bearing Arms is more than a right, it is a requirement that shall not be infringed.

Jefe can probably back me up on this but I believe that AZ requires you to take classes to get your CC permit. I think they just call it a permit here, but it's something that's still regulated.

This is exactly my point. Why make it more difficult for your average citizen to carry a firearm. Those people that they are trying to regulate carrying a firearm will never go through the process in the first place.

+1 If someone can legally buy a hand gun they should have the right to carry it anywhere they feel a need for defense.

Everyone who is calling for licensing are Idiots.
