new addition to the family

just picked up a rock river arms ar-15 in 7.62x39. its used and as soon as i can get some pics, ill put them up (kids take up alot of time, who knew). its got a 20 inch barrel and a fixed a2 stock (goddamn nj). it came with a 10 round mag and two 30 round mags, but i didnt take the 30's cause they looked beat to hell and with nj state police stopping jersians coming over the pa border because of fireworks season, i didnt want to chance being stopped with an assault rifle and illegal magazines.

not a bad deal, i traded in my llama 3 inch 1911 and i got the rifle for 485, plus i got the new daddy special and they threw in a blackhawk tactical rifle bag, a 90 dollar value.

im prob gonna pick up a flattop 7.62 upper with a 16 inch barrel so i can put optics on it and keep this one for iron sight shooting. the only draw back to this one is a fixed carry handle, which im not too fond of, but for the price im willing to deal with it.

the really nice thing is 7.62x39 is still relatively cheap, about 5-6 bucks per 25, versus the insane price of 223. plus ive got about 1500 rounds of 7.62 left from when i had my sks.
