Big brother satellites orbiting earth

Isn't it great to know that China accounts for about 1/15th of all the satellites in orbit, but accounts for nearly 40% of all the space junk?

I also gotta ask... I know Russia was first in space, but holy shit, can't they make a satellite that actually works? They have more failed satellites than the US has working AND failed satellites...
