home theater help

ok so i need some help for my basement. i have a 50 inch plasma tv, and i had the builder put 2 speakers, one on each wall they cut off where the tv will be it looks like 2 red plugs on top of 2 black plugs (not good with home audio but im assuming is the in and out for each speaker?)

anyways, i was wondering if i should just get a receiver and hook that up or get one of those home theater in a box type deals which would give me the speakers in that plus the speakers in the walls or maybe just a center speaker and a receiver?

question is can i connect the home theather in a box to the speakers in the wall via those connections, anyone know what kind of wires i need?

anyone have any suggestions on what i should do?

those are the +/- in's for the speakers in the wall.

I assume those are on the sides? If so you're going to want a 5.1 surround sound system to complete everything. You'll most likely need to have a converter to go from speaker wire to RCA cables, or find a receiver that has RCA out.

yea mine is just

RED RED
BLACK BLACK

2 for the left speaker and 2 for the right im assuming, one speaker on each wall, they are alreadly in the walls and they have a little volume controll pannel on the side i wish i had pics of them

so you would suggest the theater in a box?

well fuck me in the ass i bought one for upstairs already

it had wireless rear speakers, WIRELESS how could i loose

good thing i got for free when i bought the tv i guess

grab a nice receiver, newegg has onkyo's on sale for ridiculous prices as does amazon. and build your system from there. the all in one systems are junk unless you get one of the yamaha all in ones that actually have a real receiver in it and actual speakers that you could buy seperately.

you can find great deals on speakers on amazon and stuff

btw grab decent gauge speaker wire also, dont cheap out on the wiring
