Vintage Home Audio Equipment

Anyone into it? I might be getting a solid state Kenwood setup in a couple minutes. . . .

Picked up a Kenwood KA-701 amp, KT-615 receiver, and some fucking huge RTR speakers

The speakers are meh, I need to replace some of them, but the cabinets are fucking huge, beefy, and bad ass.

Mom's got a Sansui 2000 series integrated amp/tuner unit. still love that thing especially for the FM section. HUUUUUUGE tuning dial makes it easy to tweak in a signal.
also still sounds decent.

nice amp jeff, how many watts does it put out?

also, all those speakers need a solid refinish and a speaker replacement. what do you plan on putting in those bishes?

80 watts per channel, according to everything I have found so far. I am going to try to match the speakers to the amp, this is going to be my "music only" system. THe Pioneer DTS rig I have is great for movies, but the audio is only so so for music.

Unless you're doing tube...why bother. And speakers have only gotten better as far as accurate reproduction. Don't skimp when it comes time to buy a turntable.

Yeah, tube is the way to go. . . but this is a good starter setup. I am going to replace all the speakers, and just keep the cabinet
