Entertainment Center vs TV Stand

Help me decide...the application is a 42" 1080P Plasma television that is NOT wall-mounted.

Do I get a stand which it will sit on and have room underneath for all my audio goodies, or get a full entertainment center with audio towers on each side for audio goodies and dvds etc...

I can't decide! What would look better?

they sell centers that let you mount the tv to them as well

if you cant wall-mount it, i say get a stand then stabilize to the wall anyway. entertainment center is more expensive and doesn't look as good. but it all depends on how much shit you have to store.

i read the post, and the only thing that came to mind was "why have a flat panel that isn't on the wall?"

I like a entertainment centers, but it ends up being a place to stack shit and more surface to clean

stand. entertainment centers are overpriced, take up too much room, and are all around useless. go to ikea, they have good stands with room for audio underneath

Mine's not because I live in a studio that has no place to put it on the wall without completely rerouting the coaxe cable...and I'm not gonna rewire a place I don't own.

Put it on the wall and put a nice little unit underneath it that can hold your components. That's what I say.
