quad riding in PA
You need some spots to ride your shiny new quad? Lets look at our options. You could always go riding on state owned land. this will require that your quad be registered and insured. Then you will have to pay another permit fee to have access to the lands. All the information you need you can find here.
ATV Information for Pennsylvania Another option is to contact Reading Anthracite to get a permit to ride on their lands. the permit is for 1 year and costs $100 per permit. Here is a link to some info on that. http://www.readinganthracite.com/articles/access.pdf Like it says, you have to apply in person at their office. I'm not going to link to you all of their places to ride because its huge and would take me all day to type up 4 pages of riding areas. If you want more info on their riding area just search for RAC or reading anthracite coal. Its basically from Treverton in the west to st. clair in the east. Also from tremont in the south to Hazleton in the north. They pretty much own everything in between these places. There is also a place located in Mt. Pocono at the intersection of I80 and I380. Its called Lost trails. You can find more info here... Ride Lost Trails ATV Park Now as for me, what I did was I would go to Treverton, PA and ride on the coal mining land around there and around shamokin. I never bothered to get a permit for it and never had any problems. I'm not saying you can't get arrested, but I am saying that I nor anyone I know has ever had any problems with authorities, and the locals are extremely helpful people. Do a google search for "coal hill" and most likely the one in treverton will come up. Thats where I always rode.Good luck, have fun, and make sure you know whats on the other side of the hill because a lot of times it will be a 100-200 foot drop off. ![]()

I had both of mine registered and ins...
But, I ignored all state statutes pertaining to ATV operation and trail riding permits..blah blah blah... I rode every trail within 150 miles of my house...and there are a gazillion(well almost) It would be fair to say the 1% of my riding was legal... However, as a tax payer, i felt well within my colonial rights to pursue happiness...

Yeah my bro's raptor is registered in NY since that's where him and his buddies do the majority of their riding. I think he wants to do more local riding but NJ doesn't offer much I don't think and he's not looking to drive hours upon hours to get somewhere just to ride it.
