Protein - how much is good?
I've read over on BB.com that alot of guys are going by this theory. Take in a gram of protien for every pound you want to weigh.
so if you want to weigh 175, you take in 175g's per day. thoughts on this?

its not quite 1g to 1lb of bodyweight, its about .8 be careful though, not sure what you are trying to do but I take whey occasionally and each scoop has 25g of protein, remember you also consume protein through the foods you eat daily, so dont go taking like 6 scooops of 25g of whey protein. its the calories in the protein that make you gain weight. lets say each scoop has 25g. but also contains about 120 calories so assuming you take 6 scoops thats 720 calories. |

ok i just re-read your question.
the way to gain weight is to consume calories. weigh yourself then write down what you eat everyday for a week, calculate your daily intake and then the following week, eat a few more calories everyday, until you slowly start putting on weight. thats what I did and it blew my mind. I started off at 176, i slowly built my way up to 188 and now my goal for the upcoming months is 200. its not easy though, b/c as you approach your target weight you may have to start eating more than the previous weeks. |

lol they are approx 220 calories per serving... plus however many calories in 16 ounces of milk..
lets be generous and say thats roughly 800 calories.. that is still WAY under what i need to be taking in.
