Creatine. Anyone take it?

Pros and cons?

I few cons i heard were some people said that if you take too much it may lead to kidney issues, sometimes gives you stomach cramps and diarreah. the weight you gain is mostly water weight.

anyone know what happens when you stop taking it?

any input would be great.

i thought about taking just a bottle of it to see how it worked. the "reason" you gain water weight is because of the amount of water you need to keep from cramping. if done correctly, you shouldnt gain all water weight..its fairly cheap and yields good results, im just interested to see how it works for me. if water weight is what you gain, when you stop your cycle, you'll deflate. any other info would be nice though, im interested as well.

creatine is great imo. There's a type of creatine called "Kre-alkalyn" http://www.maxmuscle.com/shopmax/sto...05&criteria=28

Thats just one product. My family owns a max muscle so I take mainly max muscle products. The kre-alkalyn is made by some other company and just let others put their name on it but the credit is given to that other company.

Anyways, what this kre-alkalyn is suppose to do is prevent the conversion of creatine to creatinine which is what gives you all the negative side effects. The serving is only 1.5g of creatine but they state that it's like taking 10g of regular creatine monohydrate due to the fact that regular creatine will mostly turn into creatinine renduring it usless. thats why you have to load on regular creatine. With Kre-alkalyn there's no loading. Just take it 30-40 min before your workout with alot of water before, during, and after your workout. You can also take another serving after your workout as well.

A healthy body is made up of about 2/3rds or 66% water. If you're holding more water then that means you have more "lean body weight" compared to fat. meaning your metabolism will increase and you'll have more energy. We've all felt the effects of being hung over mainly due to dehydration. So the more water you hold the better you should feel. Yea you'll lose some size and weight when you get off the creatine but if you go the Kre-alkalyn route this may not happen since you will be only taking it before and after your workout and not have to load and maintain.

just one mans opinion

Creatine doesnt make you stronger or anything, all it really does is give u the opportunity to become stronger. it helps ur recovery after u lift each set. lets say u can do a hundred lbs 10 times then only 8 then 6 because your muscles are getting tired. with creatine you might be able to do 10 then 9 then 8 because ur muscles are recovering quicker. thats what i understood it as anyway. i saw some differences while on it.

the reason u gain water weight is because your muscles cells absorb more water to use the creatine in your system. because your body is using more water its alot easier to cramp. u'll need to drink alot more water. and the kidney issue, any suppliment you take puts ware and tare on your insides. you get creatine from everyday foods like steak and what not, with a supplement, ur just taking alot more.

and to lose the water weight when u stop taking it, i've heard different things. some ppl say u deflate right away, others say it takes forever to lose. my room mate said it took a long time to lose it, but i think he was just a fat ass and gained weight (might be muscle might be fat)

i've only used creatine when stacked with other things (like NO2 and other nitric oxide products) i never had any good results when taking it alone so I can't attest to that. i guess it did its thing when I stacked it, got some good results. did put on about 15-20lbs after stopping my routine though. everyone's different. my advice, go to GNC and see what they reccommend taking it with for a good workout

I was waiting for this to pop up. Everyone has given good info. It is like any other supplement some people love it some hate it some dont' have any opinion. I have taken many different forms of Creatine. It does get you a big bigger not much stronger. I didn't see any difference in recovery time for me. I hated having to load when I was taking it. And cycle on cycle off. Again this is just me. I have read some much on this supplement it ridiculuos. IF anyone is interested just try it. I think athletes benefit alot more from taking it than body builders. Seems to give them more umph. I will post up some brands that I have personally used as well as some other ones that I know some others have used. I will do that probably tomorrow. Just got back from boarding and I am kinda beat..
