Planet Fitness sucks. You can't grunt to loud only have light weights and they have a dress code... I almost joined for 10 bucks a month can't be beat..... But then i saw the LUNK meter. FAIL... If you make to much noise the LUNK meter goes off you are warned then asked to leave. Umm yah FUCK THAT....

i just joined. tonight was my first night. the lunk meter only really goes off when someone drops weights on the ground and no one even pays attention to it when it does. the kids at the front desk thought it was a joke. The equipment is pretty lame but you can make due with what they have. its a mostly cardio place and the treadmills are crap in my opinion (although two girls in front of my had tight see through spandex and thongs on with really nice asses, but that was more of a distraction which was a bad thing).
Anyways, for $10 you cant beat it. I did my weights and didnt really miss out on too much of my routine. i actually ran into keith and suzy there and we chatted for a bit. overall its not that bad. its no LA fitness or anything but you can def get more out of that place than the $10 a month. Im happy with it for now. when i need to do serious lifting i can just go over my buddies house

my gym recently got bought out by planet fitness.
they took away the power rack they also took away all dumbells over 55 or 60lbs i believe they removed all mirrors from the gym except for the tiny freeweights section they will be taking away the weight benches and replacing them with smith machines. my old gym has become super gay and i'm paying about 39$ per month, i'm looking for a new gym but havent found one that cheap yet. the place is good if you are just going for cardio but if you want to really lift then its probably not for you |

did you happen to notice what the heaviest dumbbells were? i have 60lb dumbbells at my house so if they're arent any that are higher than that, it'll be a waste of my $10
edit: i got ninja'd and that pretty much answered my question. i guess the consensus is, FUCK PLANET FITNESS. |

I signed up at 24 hour fitness about 3 years ago for $550 prepaid for 3 years, ~$15.28/month. After the 3 years which is almost up, it's only $49/year!!! as long as I renew it. That's like $4.08/month! It was a promotional thing though, but i've asked recently if they have any kind of specials like that and they say $650 for the 3 years then $29 a year after.
