Need help with internet

I used to have a USB 2.0 modem connection w/my comcast. I switched to an ethernet or NIC card so I could use a wireless network. My download speeds on speedtest.com are 25000 to 27000 and my upload is 7000-8000. That sounds more than fine. My wifes's laptop gets the wireless connection perfectly and everything moves lightning fast. She uses IE explorer and so do I. However, my pages load like 1,2,4,5,6... and then they load. Again, connection speed is great but why do my pages take forever to load. I am using XP and a wireless 2.4 GHZ linkssys router. I have done a viurs scan, spybot ,etc. Nothing. Any ideas. Thanks.

switch to mozilla and see if that helps...if it doesn't I would check the firmware for the card and or router and update it.

Yes I am using IE 7. Just so I give the right info. My computer is more or less hardwired because it goes from the modem to the wireless router back to the computer ethernet card. That's what is weird. I am hard wired and my wife's laptop is not. My download was almost off the speedometer but the pages take forever to load. My wife's laptop loads as fast as it should.
