Got my comp up and running so I ran threw 3dmark06 to see what I got and here are the results. Lets see what you guys got.

Benchmarks show what your PC is capable of doing. He just built a new rig and wanted to see where everyone's PCs are at.

FYI for those don't know you have to download software to run the 3dmark06 benchmark. I'll post a link later if someone doesn't do it sooner.

Yeah, I have pretty much the same setup so I'm just going to assume we have about the same specs.

Did you overclock your 4850?

Benchmarks aren't THAT important. I have an AMD system but use a pair of GTX280 nvidia in quad sli mode.

Benchmarks show it just about 10222. that's crap.

But I can throw in crysis and run it 1920x1200 on ultra-high resolution in a firefight.

Benchmarks can be skewed by cpu, hard drive interface, etc. by virtue; intel chips will always show higher scores.

It's like an e-penis measuring stick.

There are youtube vids out on how those companies fight eachother to get the highest 3dMark scores... the computers aren't even practical. they are half-assembled and placed inside deep freezers that crank water or even liquid nitrogen through it...sealed and overclocked to the point that if you opened the door to look at it you would fuck it up.

It's just a number, lol. the real test: Crank up your graphics and sound, turn on all effects and go into a firefight. Who cares if you get 60 fps in crysis while looking at the ground. Lets see if you can get 60 fps in crysis while looking at multiple explosions and bullet tracers flying about in multiplayer.
