Cisco scoops Jabber
Looks like they're going to jump into the corporate IM game. I'm all for it. Open-source with a vendor to call when the shit breaks=easier sell and I sleep better.
Cisco scoops up Jabber | The Open Road - The Business and Politics of Open Source by Matt Asay - CNET News I'm a fan of .Net messenger for corporate IM, but nobody uses the Office integration or anything else. It just sits in the tray.

Makes sense. Cisco could use the IM technology with its Presence software. I believe it can already do IM, but I'm sure they could use the technology, or they're at least buying a competitor.
