No its their version of an iPhone. Now I don't want this to turn into a iPhone bashing thread so just stop right there.

If the Dare is the same way then I'm not even gonna bother going to look at one. The problem with the Verizon store close to me is that they usually never have the phone on display that actually works. It's always just a gutted version with a sticker on the screen.![]() |

Also would like to state that I mainly want this for surfing the intarwebz & texting at work. And I'm not a big fan of Blackberry no matter how you slice it. My ex had a Pearl and I just couldn't deal with it.

hmm havent used the interwebz on the dare, but the texting is nice. i do prefer buttons, not touch screen for texting myself. hence the voyager. oh also havent used the aim client on either

Ok so after spending the better half of today pacing back and forth between the Verizon & AT&T stores at the local mall I've come to realize I'm not really a fan of either the iPhone 3G or the LG Dare. Both are nice phones...iPhone has a clearer screen & is alot sleeker/lighter where as the Dare has vibrating feedback. Neither of them are easy for me to type on tho cause I have some pudgy fingers LoL. The Dare's internet browser was exactly what I thought it would be considering I had the Voyager. The AIM feature was the same mediocre interface I've come to know from Verizon. The iPhone's internet browser wasn't as fast as I thought it would be and sort of hard for me to navigate but then again I didn't have any guidance through it. It took me a while to figure out how to zoom in and so forth and how to navigate back and forth through pages. All in all I guess my search will continue. I'm still pretty convinced I will have to leave Verizon unless they decide to upgrade their internet/aim client anytime soon.

People srsly need to stop comparing every touch screen phone to the iPhone. The Dare is Verizon's version of AT&T's LG Vu.. same exact shit just different shell. I've already confirmed this.

I'm not comparing them like that. I'm just saying I went out to Verizon to test out the Dare and to AT&T to test out the iPhone cause those were the two phones I was interested in from each company. Settle down ya messican...no iPhone bashing here. I just couldn't get used to the touch screen with my pudgy digits.
