Motorcycle Safety Courses
What's up guys, jut got a question on Safety Courses. I never riden a bike before except my friend let me on his bike just to see how it is to come off the clutch and into first a couple of times, thats about it. But im interested in getting one but want to do the course first. Does anyone know how the Brian's Harley Davidson one is off of Buis. Rt 1 in feasterville? It's the closest to my house but I heard the Willow Grove one is better. Any help would be appreciated

Doing it is a VERY GOOD idea if you've never ridden. Check up on wherever you're thinking about going and make sure when you're done you get the little certificate that you can take to the DMV and get your motorcycle endorsement without having to go through the test procedure.
Other than that, I'd say buy a used bike because (You can quote me on this) YOU WILL LAY IT DOWN. Be smart and don't get killed....

I'd done the MSF class only the week before also. I cannot stress this enough... EVERY BIKE IS DIFFERENT. I wasn't cocky trying to get going on the bike I bought but there's a HUGE difference between a 250lb honda rebel and a 600+lb cruiser (which is a light one!) If you get a bike after doing the class (we had a couple people tell the instructors at the end of the day they were glad they took the class and passed, but wouldn't be getting bikes. Them I respect as being smart enough to recognize their limits) I'd suggest you get your friend to take it over to some large parking area for you to spend an hour or 2 practicing on it in a safe environment. After I dusted myself off from my spill and checked the bike over that's exactly what I did. I spent 2 hours riding the bike around a large parking lot practicing all the skills the MSF class tried to drill into me. Learning how the bike acts/reacts to you is far more important than blasting down the highway. These things ain't cars. ![]() [/soapbox] Last edited by sota; 06-11-2008 at 08:43 AM. |

Well I'm looking at the streetbikes, im not into the cruisers, iunno just not my style. Like how they look though. But I was looking at the Ninja 250 for my first one just because it's a weaker bike. But my friends all say I should get the 500 because I'll get bored really quickly with the 250
